The Aruba International Film Festival has announced its lineup with over 60 features and documentaries in competition at the fifth annual event.
Zachary Sluser’s The Driftless Area, starring Anton Yelchin and Zooey Deschanel, will open the fest. Paz Fábrega’s Viaje has also been announced as the closing film.
Driftless Area, based on the novel of the same title by Tom Drury, centers on a budding love affair that causes a ripple effect in a quiet town. It premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April.
This year’s lineup also includes the Caribbean premiere of The Lobster, starring Colin Farrell and Oscar-winner Rachel Weisz. Yorgos Lanthimos’ sci-fi comedy recently premiered at the Toronto and Cannes Film Festivals.
Also playing are Colombian drama La Tierra y la Sombra as well as Malin Ackerman-Nina Dobrev pic The Final Girls.
The Aruba Film Festival will be held October 7-11.
