Back in 2014, director David Karlak launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to make this action/sci-fi story come to life. This month, the 5-minute short film finally debuted! Make sure you give it a watch as it’s a very interesting take on robots-versus-humans story. I have also added screencaptures into the gallery.
The first trailer for The Driftless Area has been released, and it looks amazing!
No one knows if Pierre fell for the wrong girl or was just unlucky in love.” Based on the novel of the same title by Tom Drury, Zachary Sluser’s neo-noir, metaphysical romance centers on a budding love affair that causes a ripple effect in a quiet town. After his parents’ death, an affable bartender, Pierre Hunter (Anton Yelchin), returns to his childhood home where he falls for the enigmatic Stella (Zooey Deschanel), a stunning woman with an elusive past. Pierre finds himself pulled into a cat-and-mouse game with an incompetent yet destructive criminal (John Hawkes). Braced with a duffel bag full of cash and unyielding optimism, an unveiling mystery sets Pierre down a path that will determine all of their fates.
The Driftless Area is available on DVD and VOD on April 26.
In addition to the grand prize of a walk-on role in Star Trek Beyond, each week we’re randomly selecting an additional winner to join the To Boldly Go Crew. The members of this honorary crew will visit the set, hang with the cast, and watch as they film scenes from the new film.
Every $10 entry supports nine global organizations each nominated by members of the cast. Check out other once-in-a-lifetime experiences at omaze.com.
