Anton Yelchin is reportedly in talks to play Harry Osborn in the upcoming Spider-Man film from director Marc Webb ((500 Days of Summer)).

Prior to Andrew Garfield nabbing the coveted role of Spider-man, Yelchin was rumored to be on the short-list of actors to play the new Peter Parker.

Garfield can be seen in the upcoming Facebook movie The Social Network.

Yelchin burst onto the movie scene with high-profile roles in Terminator Salvation and the reboot of Star Trek in which the 21-year-old played Pavel Chekov.

James Franco starred as Harry Osborn in Sam Raimi’s three Spider-Man movies.

The untitled Spider-Man will hit theaters on July 3, 2012.[SOURCE]

Yelchin joins a list of contenders including: Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot), Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Andrew Garfield (The Social Network), Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief) and Alden Ehrenreich (Tetro). Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince) and Michael Angerano (Lords of Dogtown) are also on the final list.
